Zambia, DR Congo to End Border Delays for Copper-Carrying Trucks

The Democratic Republic of Congo's President Felix Tshesikedi and Zambian President Hakainde Hichelema, have vowed to resolve customs delays for trucks transporting copper, writes Kathy Short for VOA. The two countries are Africa's top producers of the precious metal.

There has been a growing demand worldwide, for electric vehicles - which is fuelling the race for copper and cobalt used in their batteries, but truckloads of the key metals have been stuck at the border between the two countries.
