More Power Cuts On Cards For South Africa Despite Govt Denials
Officials at power utility Eskom, recently delivered a presentation to the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa, an industry body representing the country's biggest retailers, detailing that South Africa will still be subject to deep power cuts in December 2023 and January 2024.
A forecast by Eskom officials on the state of the country's electricity system has shown that there will be consistent blackouts, contradicting the recent claims made by Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa.
South Africa continues to face power cuts which have been ongoing since 2007, due to failing infrastructure, corruption and mismanagement at the national power utility.
