Mozambique records zero Covid cases for the first time

By Jose Tembe

Mozambique on Monday recorded its first day of zero Covid-19 infections since the outbreak of the disease in the country in March 2020.

It also recorded zero Covid deaths and zero hospitalisation in 24 hours throughout the country.

The country has so far recorded 225,140 infections and 2,196 deaths since the pandemic started.

Some 18 people are still hospitalised across the country.

There were no recoveries in the country in the last 24 hours.

The ministry has attributed the zero cases to massive vaccination campaign and adherence to mask wearing, hand washing and social distancing.
