SA police 'probe intimidation of Brackenfell whistle-blower'

Police in South Africa are investigating alleged intimidation of the parent who shared a video of an all-white matrics party, according to Independent Online.

The parent, Ivan Simmers, is quoted as saying that a vehicle was trailing him and he had been threatened.

Police spokesperson FC van Wyk is quoted as saying that an intimidation case had been opened and would be transferred to Brackenfell for further investigation.

Mr Simmers shared the video of the party online after black students complained of not receiving an invitation.

The video sparked criticism towards the school management who explained that the party had been organised by a group of parents.

The Economic Freedom Fighters party held demonstrations outside the school for what they termed as racism.
