Six more coronavirus cases confirmed in South Africa

The health minister in South Africa has confirmed that six more people have contracted coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 13.

The new cases all involve people who have recently returned from Europe and are spread across the Guateng, KwaZulu-Natal, and Western Cape provinces, local media reports.

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said that the new patients had already started receiving treatment.

“Some of these patients are already in hospital while some, specifically those who are asymptomatic, are in self-quarantine. Contact tracing has also started for all these cases”, he said.
