John Steenhuisen Visits Ukraine on 'Fact-Finding Mission'
Leader of the Democratic Alliance in South Africa, John Steenhuisen, recently visited in a much publicised trip to Ukraine on a fact-finding mission to “assess the prospects for peace and understand the stakes Africa has in this regard.”
Shared in a Facebook post on Friday, Steenhuisen outlined the purpose of his trip, to see with his own eyes the devastation which has occurred within the eastern-European country, as well as outlining what he has learned through visiting and his hopes for the future as a result of his visit.
“I, for instance, when I get back [to South Africa], am going to work for a visit of an all-Africa parliamentary group to Ukraine”, Steenhuisen mentions.
His trip follows trips similar visits by other politicians from around the world including Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom and Netherlands' Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
