SA sends new Rwanda envoy after 'prostitute' jibe
Rwanda has accepted the incoming South African High Commissioner, a post which stood empty for two years because of frosty relations.
Mandisi Bongani Mabuto Mpahlwa was received by Rwanda's Minister of Foreign Affairs Vincent Biruta on Thursday.
The former trade minister follows George Nkosinati Twala who was recalled in December 2018, after Rwanda's then-Deputy Foreign Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe directed "insulting" comments at South Africa's Lindiwe Sisulu.
A headline on a Rwandan pro-government news website also called Ms Sisulu a "prostitute", after her meeting with an exiled former chief of staff of the Rwandan army, Lt Gen Kayumba Nyamwasa.
