Trump to add 4 African countries to travel ban list
US media reports are suggesting that President Donald Trump is thinking about adding 4 African countries to a travel ban list.
Someone reported to have seen the list told how citizens from Nigeria, Eritrea, Tanzania and Sudan will not be granted certain visas to enter the US over security fears.
Outside of Africa, it is thought Myanmar, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus will also be added.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, President Trump confirmed the travel ban list would be added to but refused to be drawn on which countries would be included.
But according to the Politico website, the list is not final and is subject to change, with a final announcement expected next week.
Contrary to popular belief, citizens from the countries included on the list would not be subject to a complete ban but rather certain types of visas, such as business of tourist visas.
In September 2017 Mr Trump issued a travel ban to citizens from 5 majority-Muslim countries: Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen, preventing them from entering the US, as well as restrictions on those from Venezuela and North Korea.
The executive order signed by Mr Trump was challenged in the courts, but in 2018 was upheld in the Supreme Court.
