Zimbabwe mayor freed on bail
The Zimbabwe High Court has granted bail to the mayor of the capital, Harare, Jacob Mafume.
He was arrested almost two weeks ago and charged with abuse of office.
He is accused of illegally parcelling out residential land to a relative.
His party, the main opposition Movement for Democratic Change, had labelled his arrest as politically motivated.
Harare is an opposition stronghold. Mr Mafume was appointed mayor in early September.
