Zimbabwe opposition supporters freed on bail

A group of 14 opposition supporters in Zimbabwe have been released on bail after five months in jail.

A high court judge ruled that they were no longer a danger to their community and unlikely to interfere with witnesses.

In June, they were charged with inciting violence following clashes at the funeral of a murder victim.

They were each ordered to pay $70 (£59). This was their fifth attempt at bail.

International rights groups have called for the charges to be dropped, saying they were politically motivated.

Earlier this week opposition MP Godfrey Sithole, who faces the same charges, was also freed on bail and a second MP, Job Sikhala, remains behind bars.
