Barbra Banda, Lungu, Nachula and Tembo join Copper Queens camp
Foreign based players have started trooping in ahead of Friday’s Paris Olympics 2024 final round qualifier against Morocco.
Skipper Barbra Banda leads the foreign legion of players who have joined the camp in Ndola.
Banda joined her teammates on Sunday evening and has since started training with the group as they look to shape up for the Atlas Lionesses challenge.
Kazakhstan based duo Ireen Lungu and Martha Tembo together with Israeli based Rachel Nachula also joined camp on Monday evening.
The most expensive female football player in history, Rachel Kundananji is expected to be the last to join in the next 48 hours.
Locally based players reported to camp a week ago in Ndola.
Coach Bruce Mwape two weeks ago announced a 34-member squad summoned for this month’s back-to-back 2024 Paris 2024 Olympics qualifier matches against the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco.
The Copper Queens will host the Atlas Lionesses at 19h00 on Friday, 5 April 2024 before travelling for the away match on 9 April. The overall winner over two legs will book one of the two available spots for African nations at the Olympics.
The other slot will come from the Nigeria versus South Africa clash to complete Africa’s two representatives at the global event.
