Kaizer Chiefs legend begins coaching career at Amateur club
A former Kaizer Chiefs star has taken his first steps into the world of coaching and already has his eyes on a DStv Premiership post
Former Kaizer Chiefs midfield general Willard Katsande has opened up on his new exciting coaching gig.
The former Amakhosi star, who holds a CAF D coaching licence, has joined fourth division side Crystal Lake FC.
While his exact position remains unconfirmed for now, the Zimbabwean legend already has his eyes set on a head coaching role in the top flight!
Take a look at what Kaizer Chiefs legend Willard Katsande had to say about his interesting venture into coaching below.
KAIZER CHIEFS LEGEND BEGINS COACHING CAREER AT CRYSTAL LAKE FC
“I have dreams of moving into coaching because I have the passion and one day, I want to be the head coach of one of the PSL teams. My main objective is to coach the Zimbabwe national team,” the Kaizer Chiefs legend told Kick Off.
In other news, Kaizer Chiefs are set to once again find themselves in hot water with the Premier Soccer League.
Unruly Amakhosi fan behaviour will likely come back to bite the club. Following last weekend’s derby loss, Chiefs fans were captured hurling objects at the club’s players and staff.
It’s not the first time this happened this season. Chiefs were fined and forced to play a match behind closed doors late last year for the same transgressions.
The club also have a suspended R300 000 fine hanging over their head which will now likely be forced upon them!
Furthermore, if indeed found guilty, the club will have to move their next home match to a neutral venue.
AMAKHOSI SET FOR HEFTY FINE AND STADIUM LOCKOUT
“With regard to the current transgression they were fined a monetary fine of R300,000 which is wholly suspended for another period of six months on condition that during the period of suspension, they are not found guilty of the same offence again,” PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu said as quoted by Sowetan after their previous offence in October 2023.
“They (Kaizer Chiefs) were also ordered to play their next home game at a neutral venue should they re-offend and be found guilty during the period of suspension. They were subsequently directed to carry the costs of today’s seating.”
