South Africa: Cheetahs confirm Rabz Maxwane departure to the Lions

The Cheetahs have confirmed Rabz Maxwane has left the franchise and will join the Lions

The winger is not the only player to say farewell to the franchise, however.

Joseph Dweba, a member of the 2019 Currie Cup team has joined Bordeaux in France while three players, Gerhard Oliver, Justin Basson and Louis Fouche have retired.

Both Olivier and Basson were forced into retirement by a neck and knee injury respectively while Fouche has hung up his boots and will be opening a business in Port Elizabeth.

In June, the Cheetahs announced that lock Sintu Manjezi would join the Bulls in Pretoria.

Cheetah Head Coach Hawies Fourie thanked the players saying: “We wish all our departing players all the best for the future. I would like to thank them for their contributions both on and off the field.”
