South African Rugby Team Front Cancer Campaign

The Rugby World Cup winning South African side are heading a campaign urging men to be more aware of the dangers of testicular cancer, and to “be ballsy enough to check your balls”.

The campaign was started by scrumhalf Faf de Klerk following his now famous budgy smuggler dressing room celebration following their win over England in Japan.

Photos were widely circulated of de Klerk being congratulated by Prince Harry whilst wearing the underwear, blazoned with the South African flag.

The campaign, in partnership with pharmaceutical company Cipla South Africa, is “hoping for the same talkability about these important self-checks that women had established about regular breast checks”, according to a statement they released.

de Klerk posted a photo of himself wearing the famous smugglers, with the caption “Be ballsy enough to check your balls!  Testicular cancer is curable if caught and treated early enough!

“Check out fafchallenge.com for some important tips & tricks on how to up your balls skills!!”.

Several members of the squad have since been challenging each other to post a photo of themselves in a pair of budgies.

So far team captain Siya Kolisi, wingers Mapimpi and Kolbe, de Allende, Marx and Kriel have put up their own versions of the post.
