AFCON 2019, Second Group Matches Begin

Wednesday marked the beginning of the second round of fixtures during the group stages of the African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

In Group A tournament hosts Egypt secured their second victory against DR Congo finishing up 2-0, while Uganda and Zimbabwe drew 1-1.

In Group B Nigeria secured its second victory of the tournament with a 1-0 victory of Guinea.

Following the matches both Nigeria and Egypt have already secured their places in the knockout round that follows the group stages with two wins under their belt.

Thursday sees Madagascar take on Burundi in the other Group B fixture. Meanwhile in Group C Kenya face Tanzania and Senegal will take on Algeria in a hotly anticipated match that will see two of the tournament favourites go head-to-head.
