Senegal Enters Afcon Top of FIFA Rankings

The 2019 African Cup of Nations (Afcon) is expected to kick-off in Egypt later this week. Ahead of the tournament the Senegalese national team, the Teranga Lions, have topped the list of African teams in the most recent FIFA rankings and have been placed 22nd globally.

Led by Sadio Mane, the team has been placed in Group C along with Algeria, Tanzania and Kenya.

After Senegal the next highest ranked teams from the continent are Tunisia (25th), Nigeria (45th), Morocco (47th) and DRC (49th).

Globally Belgium leads the rankings, followed by France.
