South Africa Exits FIFA Women’s World Cup
The South African team have been knocked out of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup during the group stage.
Banyana Banyana suffered a 4-0 defeat to Germany on Monday, following a 1-0 loss to China and a 3-1 loss to Spain. It is the first time that the South African team has qualified for the tournament.
Meanwhile, Nigeria lost 1-0 to France on Monday. While the result left the side third in their Group the team could still make it through to the final 16 as one of the best third-placed teams, having won their earlier match against South Korea.
Cameroon still have one match left to play as part of the group stage and are set to take on New Zealand on Thursday. So far the side has lost 1-0 to Canada and 3-1 to the Netherlands.
