Cameroon Exit 2019 Women’s World Cup
The Cameroonian team have exited the 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup after making it past the group stages to the final 16.
Their departure comes following a 3-0 defeat to England in a match that saw tempers fly with disputes and protests over VAR decisions.
In the first half a goal by England’s Ellen White was flagged as offside but subsequently allowed after the VAR showed White was onside. In the second half Cameroon’s Ajara Nchout scored a left-wing cross, but the goal was disallowed by VAR, leaving Nchout in tears and further delaying the match.
Commenting on the match, Cameroon coach Alain Djeumfa stated, "Tonight the referee got a lot of things wrong. Watch the match and you will see her mistakes.”
